Virginia and Vernon know that their seven-year-old Dobermann, Dexter, has serious spinal problems and they are now seeing Noel to discuss options for his treatment. And, feline Driver has already survived trauma when he lost an eye, but his indomitable spirit is about to be tested again.

And Laura and Max have brought in their Chuskie pup Moon, who has his life blighted by severe developmental elbow disease.

It's just another day at the practice for nine-month-old Cockapoo Betsy, who's become one of the family while receiving treatment for multiple injuries she sustained after being hit by a van five months ago. And Bijou Dogue de Bordeaux puppy Angel is only nine months old but is suffering from a genetic problem.

It's been fifteen years since Noel began expanding the boundaries of veterinary medicine at his practice in Surrey, and his soulmate, the Border terrier Keira has been by his side all the way. But on one dark night, Noel's life was turned upside down when Keira was hit by a van. Suddenly, the surgeon must face the possibility that his Keira may not be fixable.

Now they find themselves at Fitzpatricks to discuss possible total hip replacement.

Noel treats bouncy golden retriever Bertie who has a dislocated hip, Tibetan terrier Sunny who's almost immobile, and springer spaniel Edith who has a bulging spinal disc.

It's Christmas time at Fitzpatrick Referrals, where Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and his team endeavour to get all patients well and home in time for the festivities. And this year there are some familiar faces hoping that Noel can perform wonders for their much-loved animal family members.
