CHAN IS MISSING, is the landmark debut feature film by Wayne Wang. The film concerns San Francisco cab drivers Wood Moy and Marc Hayashi searching the streets of Chinatown and questioning local characters in search of the mysterious eponymous character who ran off with their money. Shot in 16mm and with a budget of $22,000, it was the first major American independent film by a Chinese-American.
