When wolf researcher Emma Salomonsen learns that her father, wolf research pioneer Marius Stenhammar, has gone insane, she takes her son Leo and travels to Østbygda.

Marius Stenhammar has disappeared. Emma's boss, Jo Ås, orders her to hand over the bloody jacket to the police. But Emma chooses to postpone the handover until she talks to Marius.

The blood on the jacket belongs to Daniel, and the fur is from the alpha male. Kathinka confronts Emma with the evidence, but Emma assures her that it is not a wolf behind the attack.

A fisherman finds a clue in the river. Unfortunately, it seems more and more likely that wolves attacked Daniel. At the same time, Emma discovers that Leo has disappeared.

Emma and Leo are on their way back to Oslo when Emma gets one last thought that might help to solve the case. A wolf caught on a game camera makes Emma very suspicious.

Emma and Asbjørn Kolomoen are on their way across the border to Sweden. Finally, they will find out what happened to Daniel. At the same time, Emma receives a text message from Naim.
