The Great American Baking Show

Eight amateur bakers put their baking skills to the test; it kicks off with Cake Week, during which the bakers are challenged to create elevated loaf cakes, a colorful British classic, and a celebration-worthy sponge cake.

Paul and Prue test the skills of the remaining seven bakers with cookie challenges; they tackle chocolate-covered bars, then take a trip to Italy for a technical bake; finally, they must make cookie boxes sturdy enough to hold two dozen cookies.

It's Bread Week, and the final six bakers will "knead" to rise above the competition to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood; the bakers bake sweet buns, hand-stretched margherita pizzas and ornate, three-tiered Korovais.

The quarter-final is tense for the remaining bakers, who are served a savory twist for the signature bake that pushes their pastry prowess; Pastry Week also includes a timeless all-American technical challenge and a botanically inspired masterpiece.

With a double elimination on the horizon in this stressful Semifinal, the pressure has never been greater; the bakers must create a perfectly baked meringue roulade, tackle sweet and savory pretzels and craft a multi-layered bombe glacée.

Everything is on the line for the top three bakers in the finale; for the signature bake, they take on fruit tarts; the tropical slice technical bake tests them; the bakers tell their story in a three-tiered dessert tower for the showstopper.
