Ellen realizes that she has no idea who she is anymore and the sudden death of an anonymous colleague sends her into a fright. Alva and Nico are starting an IVF treatment, but Alva doubts if it will succeed.

Ellen desperately tries to figure out what she really wants. Meanwhile, Alex is worried that she is going to leave him. Alva is entirely focused on the motherhood-to-come when she meets someone from her past.

Ellen starts a hunting course and meets Matteo, meanwhile Alex feels that Ellen is slipping further away. Alva and Nico both receive life-changing news. Polly pushes Ellen and Alva into a hurtful conflict.

Alva lets go of her fears and allows herself to fully embrace the pregnancy, while Adam reappears in her life. Nico is torn between Alva and Harry and is forced into a betrayal.

Alex tries to get Ellen back to her old self. Alva and Nico have booked an ultrasound where they anticipate to hear the baby's heartbeat - the actual proof of whether they are going to be parents or not.

Alva tries to process the loss of the child, which leads her into the worst possible emotional state. Meanwhile, Ellen attends a butchering course with Matteo and everything between them is put to the test.
