Now that C.J. is ready to date again, Curtis and the firefighters set him up on a series of speed dates, while Ella and Claretha run an AIDS education workshop.

Ella is put in two difficult positions when Curtis wants to put off his colonoscopy and Calvin starts dating HIV-positive nurse Karen without knowing her condition.

When Jazmine steals a hamster from school, assistant principal Nicole stops by the Payne house with evidence, while Malik has a crush on the very same assistant principal.

A storm is coming into Atlanta. Ella tries to contact C.J. about picking the kids up from school due to the storm, but Cj is unavailable. Cj and the assistant principal find themselves attracted to each other.

Mr. Brown makes himself at home with the Paynes, as Calvin's entrepreneurial new girlfriend Miranda (Keshia Knight Pulliam) turns out to be a con artist.

Just when they thought they were rid of him, Curtis and Ella have to endure the melodramatic Mr. Brown for a bit longer, while Jazmine finds out Malik has gotten a tattoo.

Frustrated with dating, Calvin has the idea to start a website that rates women, as Mr. Brown inherits his father's dilapidated house and doesn't know what to do with it.

When Jazmine struggles with her fractions, Malik suggests she write the math test answers on her arm, while Nicole tells C.J. that she's celibate.

Frustrated that C.J. is spending more time with Nicole than with his children, Curtis and Ella demand he balance his social life and his responsibilities as a father.

Curtis takes a trip down memory lane while cleaning out the garage with Malik, and Jazmine wants C.J. to break up with Nicole and return to the way things were with Janine.

While waiting in line to make a cash withdrawal, Curtis is unwittingly befriended by a bank robber and mistakenly identified as the mastermind behind the theft.

As the firefighters celebrate C.J.'s finalized divorce from Janine and his plan to propose to Nicole, compassionate Ella secretly helps Janine get back into rehab.

Curtis improvises when Malik and Jazmine relentlessly beg for a dog, while Janine's calls to the Payne house prompt Nicole to reveal her distrust of men.

After Ella dissuades Claretha from playing the lottery, they learn the numbers she had in mind would have won, while Curtis and Calvin attend traffic school.

With money from his 401K plan, Curtis buys a new motorcycle. Ella thinks buying the bike was selfish, dumb, dangerous and that Curtis should take it back. Curtis refuses. Malik and his friend Kyle go joyriding on curtis' bike.

Curtis is living at the firehouse because Ella kicked him out and he's driving the firefighters crazy. He takes a vow of silence, has a short hunger strike and eventually decides not to bathe until Ella takes him back.

Curtis's decision to press charges against Malik and Kyle goes way too far when they are sentenced by a white judge who is unfairly tough on African-American kids.

C.J. and the kids move out into their own apartment. It is horrible, but Curtis pressures C.J. to stay there anyway. The kids can't stand it and miss Aunt Ella's cooking.

While Curtis and Ella revel in their regained privacy, C.J. and the kids struggle to settle into their awful apartment before learning it's a very dangerous place to live.

Since Curtis was preparing for he and Ella's New Year's Eve trip to Hawaii, he forgot to pass out the flyers for the toy drive. So now, the kids from the foster home will have no toys for Christmas.
