In 1814 after a glorious defeat, Napoleon was sent to Elba Island. Upon finishing a long voyage, Edmond Dantes returns to Marseille where his bride-to-be, Mercedes, impatiently awaits him. Although isolated, he manages to befriend another prisoner, Father Faria.
