A professional criminal gang tunnels into a bank and steals the documents and secrets of the most powerful people in Belgium.

Detective Paul Gerardl discovers the secret of the safe burglary and the names of the 66 victims.

Paul’s former boss, ex-chief of police, provides him with a hiding place in a monastery.

The 66 victims of the bank break-in receive envelopes with copies of the sensitive secrets they kept in their safes.

The Procurator-General, one of the leaders of Salamander, convinces Paul to work for him and track down those responsible for the break-in.

It becomes clear that the man behind the break-in bears the burden of a tragic past that goes back to WWII.

Paul recklessly throws himself into the hunt for Salamander and sends Sofie is sent to a boarding school.

Incriminating material goes out to all 66 members of Salamander, which results in resignations, disappearances and suicides.

The royal palace sees the crisis getting out of hand and wants to make an example of someone, so Paul loses his protector.

Paul's protector from within Salamander is outlawed and hunted down mercilessly.

Paul finds himself staying at the home of the man who organized the break-in at the Brussels bank.

Betrayals and motives come to light, and Paul and the man behind the initial conspiracy have to fight for their lives.
