Jesus Crown of Thorns

Passover festival approaches. Caiaphas & Annas plot to capture Jesus with help of Judas Iscariot. Pilate gets to Jerusalem for the festival, but is rattled after a patron in Rome is executed

Claudia, Pilate's wife, wakes suddenly from a disturbing dream. Meanwhile, Herod Antipas and his wife, Herodias, arrive in Jerusalem, preoccupied by the man who others call the 'Messiah'

As the disciples argue over who is the betrayer of their teacher, Jesus makes further damning predictions. Meanwhile, Judas meets with Caiaphas, agreeing to lead the Temple Guards to Jesus

Jesus is condemned by the Sanhedrin Council, but they lack the power to pass the death sentence. Jesus is brought to Pilate, but the governor is reluctant to and sends Jesus to Herod Antipas

Judas' tragic fate sends shockwaves through the Sanhedrin. Jesus, bloody and beaten, is forced to bear his crossbeam through the streets of Jerusalem.

Jesus suffers his terrible fate on the cross at Golgotha. Although Roman soldiers mock him, Jesus forgives & offers comfort to one of the criminals crucified beside him.

Jesus is laid to rest in Joseph of Arimathea's tomb before Sabbath begins. The rest of the male disciples continue to hide in the Upper Room, fearing capture.

Andrew and Matthew encounter a stranger on the road to the village of Emmaus, recognizing his true identity only when they break bread together. The other disciples remain in the Upper Room.
