While Makina is subjected to potentially deadly treatment for her curse, Ouri begins his grueling training. Sensing a momentary weakness in their opponent, the Seven Stars fly into action.

Makina and Ouri are accused of murdering a human, but before their fate can be decided, they are captured by the Seven Stars. Now, Makina must fight for more than just vengeance.

A mysterious curse derails Makina’s attempt to let go of her bond with Keisei. Meanwhile, Takamasa struggles to convince Ouri that he must stop thinking of Makina as human.

Using his relationship with Itsuki as an example, Takamasa hopes to teach Ouri that contractor monks must make decisions based on factors of greater importance than friendship and love.

A Shikabane version of Keisei returns from the realm of the dead to kidnap Makina. Is it really him, or this just another plot orchestrated by the Seven Stars?

Ouri gets a chance to earn his stripes when he and Makina tangle with Ena, a member of the Seven Stars. Nozomi makes an appearance at school, but there is something very different about her.

Ouri’s got his hands full trying to talk Nozomi out of her dangerous infatuation with death. Outside the school, Makina attempts to decipher the mystery shrouded in Toya’s balloons.

After being captured by the Seven Stars, Makina does battle with the demented Hokuto. Ouri senses her danger, but his rescue attempt is derailed by a revelation concerning his own tragic past.

Ouri learns more about his past as he faces off against Hizuchi, but the painful realization that he is the spawn of a Shikabane is overshadowed by an outbreak of plane crashes.

Planes continue to crash into Ikai City, but the Kougon Sect is hesitant to attack the Shikabane who rise from the wreckage. Meanwhile, Ouri and Makina must stop the Seven Stars from entering sacred territory.

The truth behind the Traitor Monk is revealed; the Kougon Sect tries to make sense of what’s happening to their Shikabane; and Ouri and Makina confront the darkness of Akasha’s past.

Akasha is surprised by the strong bond between Shikabane Hime and their contracted monks, and Makina realizes that she desperately wants to continue fighting side by side with Ouri.

Flashing back to a time before Makina and Ouri’s partnership was forged, a beautiful woman known as Minai meets a gruesome end, only to be reborn as a corpse princess and paired with Isaki.
