Homestead Rescue

A homestead in serious danger of a raging California wildfire prompts Marty to clear-cut surrounding trees and create an evacuation ark for the livestock, while Matt devises a unique layer of protection to save the home.

Marty takes on a risky build, a huge diverter trench to deflect torrents of storm water that are devastating a homestead. But with a huge storm forecast, no one can predict if this rescue will succeed.

Shocked to find a bear den near the a family's Colorado homestead, the Raneys build an old school root cellar and innovative greenhouse while attempting to inspire two teenage sisters to help bring their father's dream to life.

A day in, Marty is hit with a bombshell -- the old well he's come to fix has already claimed a victim. To set the Dagues on a path to self-sufficiency, the Raneys try to deliver long-term water, protein and power sources.

The Raneys return to Alaska to find their homestead in disrepair. Their wooden tram supports were destroyed by beetle kill, and they need a water source and firewood. Then they must deal with fallout from an earthquake.
