Line of Separation

In a small, provincial town, young aristocrat Anna must take charge of the family estate when her parents are put under the threat of the Nazis. But before long, Tannbach is chucked between the hands of the Americans and Russians, and the lives of those who live there are all thrown into doubt…

After the Americans advance too far, the Russians take back control and with them comes a new regime. The town is thrown into disarray when they begin work on the policy of dispossession - reassigning the land owned by the few to the many. But is their approach too hard-lined or will it win over the people of Tannbach?

The town is divided down the line of the river, with the American order governing one and the socialist regime of the Russians in the other. The conflicts become personal as friendships are compromised and the whole town is involved in the trial against Franz Schober.
