Saved from closure, the refurbished station reopens with two new members. Young Billy Rae's inexperience presents a problem, but the Blue Watch has greater difficulties trusting fellow newcomer Geoff Pearce.

Sally passes her initiation with flying colors. Billy fears for his life as he enters the boxing ring for a match against an opponent named "the Terminator."

Billy begins to feel guilty about the fixed boxing match and decides to give his winnings to George, whose injuries have prevented him from working.

Sicknote attempts a heroic rescue of a mother and baby trapped in an attic flat.

Maggie returns from Thailand with her new boy toy. Bayleaf is found innocent in court, while Jean and Sicknote continue to get along swimmingly.

A routine inspection of a theatre ends in tragedy, and Hallam is offered another job.
