A struggling pastor prays for help as he tries to save his community church and his marriage during the holidays. His prayers are answered when an angel named Dudley (Denzel Washington) arrives-though his presence unexpectedly complicates things when he forms a special connection with the pastor's wife, Julia (Whitney Houston).
