The Alaska-Canadian Highway, also known as the Al-Can Highway and the Alaskan Highway, an epic accomplishment by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The Alaska Highway stands today as one of the boldest initiatives ever undertaken when the over 1,500 miles of roadway was built in less than 9 months.

December 7th, 1941. The attack on American soil at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, catapulted the U.S. into World War Two. The naval fleet was unaware of the impending doom that would occur that morning. Errors in judgement, mistakes, and a sense of security ended up being one of the most tragic days in United States History.

It's the year nineteen hundred. The city and people of Galveston are in harms way. A category four hurricane is bearing down on the unsuspecting city, making it and remaining the worst and deadliest natural disaster in United States history. Nearly the entire city destroyed, the death toll estimated between eight and twelve thousand.

World War Two couldn't have been won without the hard work of the women that went into the factories and other jobs so the men could go fight in the war. This is dedicated to those women who sacrificed and stepped up to help win the war.

In Antarctica there is an island that is the caldera of an active volcano and is one of the safest harbors. Deception Island sits in the South Shetland Islands. Previously a whaling station is now it's a tourist destination and scientific outpost.

Thousands of men died fighting for what they believed in during the Civil War. What most don't know is how women played a role during the war. They weren't just nurses, they were spies and soldiers.

November storms on the Great Lakes make travel treacherous. One cargo ship, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald was a freighter that succumbed to one of those storms in November of nineteen seventy-five. The entire crew of 29 were lost to Lake Superior. At the time, she was the largest ship on the Great Lakes and remains to today as the largest to have sunk there.
