Mariana Aragón was happy to have been accepted into a prestigious gastronomy school in Paris, while Elena, her friend and roommate, shares that she is pregnant by her boyfriend Gustavo, a brave journalist.

Alejandro does not hesitate to help Mariana when he finds her injured and disoriented in the street; once in the hospital, he finds out that the girl miraculously saved her life when she manages to escape from the murderers of her dear friends.

Santiago lets Rey know his suspicions that the murder of the man recently found by his team is related to the death of Mariana's young friends.

On Rey's orders, Tuétano and Chupacabras try to assassinate Mariana in the pantheon during the burial of her friends, but Alejandro helps her escape again.

Rey appears before Mariana in the interrogation room and makes her believe that he will help her, while putting together a plan to make her appear guilty. Rey presents arguments to Alejandro that make him doubt the girl's innocence.

Mariana is tortured and Rey hires a nurse to inject her with drugs and thus make her appear to the media as an addict, for which she is admitted to the Women's Prison. Frightened, the young woman obtains the protection of Alba, an inmate who has been in prison for a long time, who is unable to prevent the new inmate from continuing to be drugged.

Alejandro pretends to be an official and manages to see Mariana in jail, but he is discovered and locked up, so Natalia has to go and free him. Rey visits Mariana and promises that she will help him. However, the young woman remains confined in that cell, where they continue to inject her with drugs until she herself requests them since her body needs them.

Silvia has a coffee with Zippy, and is moved when the young man compliments her. When talking to Nora, the woman decides that she will go out with the boy more intimately. Natalia continues with her clandestine relationship with Bernardo.

Once there, the Chupacabra shows up with other officers and arrests the man, accusing him of raping a minor. Rey shows up at headquarters and makes him believe that, thanks to him, he is free. Silvia visits Zippy in her apartment and they both give in to their attraction, ending up in each other's arms.

Rey informs Mauricio that he will have to work for him laundering money from his businesses. Although the banker tries to refuse, Rey forces him through threats. Silvia and Zippy continue with their clandestine romance, despite the fact that the young man knows the grave danger they are in if Silvia's husband finds out.

Natalia visits Mariana and in jail just to hit her. Santiago looks for her mother, Teté, and takes her to live with him to try to rehabilitate her, but the woman, despite her delicate state of health, escapes.

Alba insists that Mariana kill her since her life now, confined to a wheelchair, is painful, to which the young woman refuses. Without her protector, the girl is harassed by La Machaca and other inmates, but she shows them that she is not afraid of them.

Santiago finds Rey in the room where his mother is hospitalized. The commissioner makes him believe that he is there because he is interested in the problems of those who work for him, and tries to get information about his father from him.

Dolores talks to Alejandro and expresses her concern for her daughter, whom she is not allowed to see. The woman gives her a rosary, so that she sends it to him.

Santiago rages against Rey for demanding that they erase their tracks and leave the house in Monterrey where they found Mauricio's remains. The commissioner makes him believe that it is a covert operation in which they should not get involved.

Mariana obtains her freedom, and is received on the street by Tony. At the same time, Santiago and Alejandro watch her from afar. Both men later confess that they haven't stopped thinking about her.

Claudia starts an investigation into missing women, and questions the Chupacabra about Jenny's whereabouts. Mariana continues to hallucinate, so the doctor recommends that Tony put her in a rehabilitation clinic.

Santiago and Alejandro are summoned by an unknown man who shows them sketches drawn by Mariana, with information and names including theirs, that he found in a garbage can behind the rehabilitation center and asks them for money for delivering them.

Rey accuses Serrano of looking for a scapegoat to get out of what was his responsibility: Torres' safety. Silvia talks to Alejandro about her relationship with Zippy, and the man promises to keep her secret.

Natalia confronts Silvia and asks her if she has a lover, which her mother denies. Mariana shows Tony the office that she has in her apartment, and in which she collects information from those who were involved in her arrest, to find the real culprit.

Teté tries to assassinate Rey in the hospital, but Santiago surprises her. Puzzled, the commander asks his mother for an explanation. Pressured by her son, Teté confesses that Rey is her father.

Alejandro enters Mariana's apartment and finds documents written by her to Rey, but he can't read them as Tony and Diego arrive and he has to flee.

Johnatan is captured by Rey and taken to a lonely warehouse. The Venezuelan accuses the commissioner of being the murderer of his sister, so Rey's men kill and bury him in the desert, informing Santiago that he was deported to his country.

Mariana is surprised when Rey visits her in her apartment and apologizes for not helping her when she was in prison. Alejandro argues with Natalia over her resignation from the channel and she calls him mediocre.
