Things look very different at Skeldale House and James is struggling with a wild and chaotic Siegfried. When Tristan returns from war and is shocked to see the shift in his brother, he and James decide to take action. But there’s some good news around the corner for everyone.

James and Siegfried clash when James buys an X-Ray machine for the vet practice. Mrs Hall learns more about Siegfried’s shenanigans and Mrs Pumphrey seeks help when she thinks Tricki is giving her the cold shoulder.

Tristan and Siegfried find themselves in competition to treat the horse of a wealthy family new to the area. Mrs Pumphrey and James prepare Tricki for a special visitor and Mrs Hall uncovers a secret of Tristan’s.

Helen struggles when Jenny get some exciting news. Tristan doubts himself when he tries to fit in to Charlotte’s world and Siegfried has an encounter with a troublesome goat.

James gets himself in a spot of bother when he takes on the role of attending vet at Hensfield dog track. Tristan visits Mrs Ainsley, who has a parrot with an attitude. Jimmy inadvertently tells Siegfried some home truths.

VJ Day is announced and Mrs Hall helps to plan the celebrations. Tristan leans on his brother when his past experiences come home to roost. James is puzzled by the disappearance of a newborn calf.

Siegfried has another run in with Hilda the goat and an old flame returns to Darrowby. With Helen under the weather, James juggles running the village Nativity with a growing to-do list. Tristan realises he's forgotten something important.
