Glaswegian DCI Jim Taggart (Mark McManus) and his partner, Detective Mike Jardine (James MacPherson), investigate a stolen cache of explosives and possible terrorist attack, a murder in the city that takes them to the Scottish Highlands, and the shooting death of a political candidate. As they uncover pieces of each case, sinister suspects and ominous secrets are brought to light.
