The Spider

When young, idealistic journalist Bjarne Madsen receives a tip-off about organised crime and black-marketeering on a grand scale he decides to unravel the threads of the extensive web and work his way to the “Spider” himself.

Bjarne follows the trail in his hunt to unveil Hjalmar’s criminal organisation and begins to receive some backing from his crime reporter colleague, H. C. Vissing.

Bjarne has found Weasel’s body, and has been taken in for questioning at police HQ, where he re-veals what he knows about corruption in the ranks of the force. He receives support from a somewhat shaken Vissing.

Bjarne and Vissing’s articles not only lead to a suicide at the police HQ but also mean they have to leave the newspaper. Simultaneously Hjalmar is betrayed and wants revenge.

Lisbeth begins to suspect the truth about her father and despairs. Hjalmar is forced to go to the police to turn himself in, but does the state prosecutor want the truth to come out?

Bjarne is getting close to his goal but realizes that every time he gets close to anyone connected to Zemich they get killed. Bjarne is forced to unmask Zemich and stop his activities.
