Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords

Ben has been living in a squalid, flat for 5 years. Riddled with damp, mould and bed bugs it's now causing Destiny to have breathing problems.

Landlord, builder Franc Coutinho, has been renting his property out in North London for six years without a problem. That is until his new tenant, Shuaghxi Fu, moves in. Within in six weeks, problems with paying the rent began.

Newly weds Stavros and Emily, who are expecting their first child, learnt the hard way that leaving their home empty whilst renovations were carried out could lead to disaster. It's everyone's worst nightmare…having just moved out for a few weeks, their home was occupied squatters.

Gareth and Joanna run Phoenix Community Care, a charity helping some of the most vulnerable children from orphaned asylum seekers fleeing war zones, to children leaving care for the first time. They recently purchased a building to turn into a community centre for children but it was left empty while they waited for planning permission and squatters moved in.
