A young girl is found dead in the dumpster of her father's nightclub, and Alain Louvion warns Filiponi that if he finds his daughter's murderer first, he’ll have his revenge. As it was Alain’s ex-wife and her new husband who raised the girl, her close relationship with her father intrigues Constance and Filiponi. Did that have something to do with her death?

A high-end realtor is found dead in the luxurious swimming pool of a villa she was listing. As Filiponi and Contance dig into her life they discover that no one really knew the victim. Each answered question leads to a new surprise, and Constance and Filiponi both need to drown out the noise from their own lives to uncover the killer.

Judge Claire Delaunay is found dead at the foot of a cliff, but she did not commit suicide. In shock, Filiponi leads the investigation towards the judge's husband--while keeping his own relationship with Delaunay a secret. But what does the murder have to do with a decade-old hit and run?

At loose ends, Filiponi decides to try hypnosis on Margot.

Petty criminal Fabien Varelle is found dead and Filiponi and Constance are convinced that it was no accident. Was he the victim of an over-zealous neighborhood watch? Has his secret life as a computer genius caught up with him?
