Legendary Motorcars

Last season Peter was excited to buy a Boss 429 from an old timer and was even more excited when a client not only buys the car, but also agrees to a full restoration. The problem? The old man assured Peter that all the parts were there.

Gary is excited when he gets a chance to look at an original 1963 Cobra, however, the owner makes it very clear that he does not want to sell the car. But after a little time passes, the owner calls and says he may be in the mood to sell.

Pete and Gary are invited to the Kuwait Concours D'Elegance in Kuwait City. Yes, the one in the Middle East. So, they prepare and ship a 1919 Pierce Arrow overseas, and then board a plane wondering what to expect on their journey.

Ford GTs are hot. So, when two separate customers walk into the showroom, and both guys are looking for a GT, Pete and Gary are pleased. However, instead of buying the cars, both guys want to do deal in trade. Let the bargaining begin.

Gary loves original cars, so when he hears about a motivated seller of a 1982 Datsun 280ZX he hooks up the trailer and heads out to visit the potential client. But is an all original 280ZX really a collectable car?

Peter and Gary take a 1919 Pierce Arrow to the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. They also hope to do some buying at the event. But the whole weekend takes an unexpected and sudden turn when Gary is ushered offstage by security.

Pete receives a call from one of his spotters who has found a very original 1968 split-window Corvette. With little time to act, Pete talks his spotter through the deal. Upon delivery, Peter and Gary disagree on what to do with the car.

When Peter sends Gary to look at Ferrari 308, they assume it is a regular car, but as Gary digs a little deeper, some questions arise. Is this one of the fiberglass-bodied 308s? And, if so, what is it worth compared to a steel-bodied 308?

As race car values begin to climb, Peter finds himself holding a Ferrari 206 SP. The biggest question about this car is, despite a fire, is the car a true original? To answer that question, he brings in Swiss Ferrari expert Marcel Massini.

Peter is not sure what to think about a guy who emails him about a full restoration on a very rough GTO Judge Ram Air 4. Gary gets a call about a 1951 Aston Martin. The buyer turns out to be in his 20s, must be a grinder, Gary thinks.

As the value of race cars increase, Peter decides to hunt for some NASCAR race cars that have unique histories, but where can he locate such rare vehicles? The Hendricks Motorsports Team Shop in Charlotte is a fabulous place to begin.

When exceptional cars become available for purchase, Peter and Gary will travel just about anywhere to find them. When they hear about a 300SL Mercedes, and a very rare 59 Ferrari 250 GT, both located in in California, they hit the road.

Peter gets a chance to buy a rare Hemi Cuda convertible, but he has his work cut out for him in order to prepare the car in time for the greatest muscle car show in the world- The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals event in Chicago.
