It's the summer holiday, and Jens and Åsa are off to the Swedish archipelago to take over Åsa's parents' cottage for the season. However, life in the cottage turns out to be more complicated than planned.

It's Carro's daughter Nora's birthday, and Bobo must contend with cooking, an ex-husband and an angry mother-in-law. Gunnar has lumbago, and Jens wants to show he is a capable workman.

It's time for the family's annual croquet match, but learning from previous years, Jens refuses to participate and decides to hang out with a new acquaintance instead. However, he realises later that this was a mistake.

Carro thinks that Bobo is eating like a hippopotamus and asks Åsa for help to get him to hold back a bit. But instead, Åsa and Jens receive an unwanted visit from the world's most brutal couple.

Jens wakes up with horrible pain in his wisdom tooth, but can't tell Asa because he lied to her that he'd already had it removed. Carro questions the right of public access when some messy boat owners camp on her plot.

Jens wants to show Gunnar who the man of the house is. Carro and Bobo are visited by a couple who seem to know them very well, but they have no idea who the visitors actually are. Original title: Sommaren med släkten.

Jens enjoys running, but when he meets a new, talkative friend at the jogging track, the joy is gone. Carro decides to start kayaking, and in her eagerness to be better than Åsa, she claims she can handle an Eskimo roll.

Jens is stung by a wasp in his mouth, which leads to embarrassing misunderstandings when Åsa's childhood friend visits. Bobo thinks that Carro is boring, and goes to a party to show he knows how to have fun.

After an unsuccessful attempt to dock the boat at the public pier, Jens has to ingratiate himself with Olof Bureman, Räknäs's most obnoxious person. Carro and Bobo are bored and decide to make new friends.

The summer is ending. Åsa and Jens finally get some time alone, but Jens's mother arrives for an unexpected visit. Carro goes back to town, while Bobo tries to invite some friends over, but no-one seems to have time.
