Ronnie, a gambler, owes his partner McFee a debt. He tries to repay this by taking the rap for McFee, when he accidentally shoots one of his workers. Ronnie escapes and seeks refuge on a boathouse and soon falls in love with Joan, the owner's daughter. When Ronnie cannot hide his identity any longer, Joan persuades him to come clean with the police. But, will the police believe his story?
