The first lady of the Land of Honey and her entourage have disappeared. Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata are sent on a mission and they discover an eerie castle looming in the middle of the road!

During Lee's medical check-up, he discovers that there's a lot of damage in his chakra network. Guy tries to cheer him up by taking Lee to the Academy training hall.

Seeking revenge for his dead father, Genho, Yagura's true identity and oldest sibling of the Ryudoin Brothers, confronts Guy using a unique Jutsu.

The ANBU Black Ops suspect that Genno, a carpenter of Hidden Leaf Village, stole important blueprints of the village. Tsunade concludes that the one who used Genno plans to attack the Village and puts the village on Super S-Rank Alert!

ANBU Black Ops puts Naruto under retro-hypnosis to extract Genno's motives. Without much success, Hidden Waterfall Village will be conducting maneuvers close to the village borders.

Naruto and his team desperately try to gather the scattered blueprints. It becomes clear that the Hidden Waterfall Village maneuvers and Genno are totally unrelated. Shikamaru thinks that Genno wanted to divert attention outside the village. And the eleven genin including Naruto who are searching the Academy face an astonishing truth...

Naruto and the others are shocked at the massive amounts of paper bombs placed throughout the village. They begin to remove the seals, being extremely careful so that Genno does not find out. Just then, unexpected help arrives in the way of Homura and Koharu.

Naruto confronts Genno, who has been alive all along. Shikamaru comes to the conclusion that all the traps found so far are diversionary. Genno planned to wait until the ninja were busy removing the traps, catch them off guard, and bury the entire village in a rockslide. Can the eleven ninja save Hidden Leaf Village from destruction?

The stage is a studio somewhere in Hidden Leaf Village. Our hero Naruto Uzumaki and heroine Sakura Haruno take the microphones as hosts, and the program begins. Suddenly, a bell rings inside the studio. On the other side of the telephone receiver is a voice that we haven’t heard recently!

In a mountain villa at the outskirts of the village, Naruto encounters a young girl named Yakumo drawing a strange picture. The ANBU Black Ops and the Medical Corps arrive and whisk her away. Back in the village, there is an uproar. Kurenai has just announced that she is stepping down as the jonin supervising Kiba, Shino and Hinata!

Naruto has a dream, and in it, Yakumo desperately wishes to become a ninja and Kurenai threatens to seal her power. Kurenai confirms to Naruto that she did indeed seal the powers of Yakumo, her former student. Meanwhile, mysterious ninja have suddenly surrounded the villa and seem ready to attack any moment.

The assailants are members of the Kurama Clan of Hidden Leaf Village, the same clan to which Yakumo belonged. Kurenai unleashes her genjutsu against the Kurama. Sensing danger, Guy, Squad 8, Naruto and Sakura rush to the villa to save Kurenai, who is desperately trying to protect Yakumo.

The team returns to Hidden Leaf in order to tend to Kurenai’s and Yakumo’s injuries, but they find the village in ruins. In total shock, Naruto goes to the hospital, when Unkai the ninja, who attacked them at the villa, appears. Meanwhile, Shino, Kiba and Hinata search the village and come up with a theory based on the movement of Shino’s parasitic insects.

Naruto goes to Yakumo’s studio. There, he finds that Yakumo has put Kurenai in a desperate situation. Ignoring Kurenai’s pleas to stop, Naruto tries to talk to Yakumo. Steadily the terrible secret of the Kurama villa reveals itself!

Naruto and Kiba, who have been on standby in case a pursuit is necessary, are promptly dispatched to guard a prized tea bowl and meet the client Shinemon. Shinemon puts Naruto and Kiba in harm’s way time after time in order to protect the artifact. When a gang of thieves appears, intent on stealing the tea bowl, the team finds itself in a terrible pinch.

Gantetsu, a former member of the Ninja Dropouts, makes a request for guarded escort from the Hidden Leaf Village. The Ninja Dropouts are an organization of thieves made up of rogue ninja known for their atrocious criminal methods. Naruto, Sakura and Lee join the guard squad, despite objections from the captain, Todoroki, who seems to have some connection to Gantetsu.

Although they evade the attack by the Ninja Dropouts, Naruto, Gantetsu and Todoroki are separated from the main squad. Following Todoroki’s suggestion to cut through the forest and head for the capital, the trio immediately senses something odd. They find the forest is a maze that confuses a human’s sense of direction.

The relationship between Gantetsu and Todoroki is revealed. Todoroki is the only surviving member of a family attacked by the Ninja Dropouts. Facing his brother's killer, Todoroki is unable to suppress his anger. Meanwhile, Sakura and Lee are surrounded by a band of children demanding the return of Gantetsu!

Team Leaf is finally reunited. After a heated battle, Naruto has the enemy cornered, but a boy is taken. This boy turns out to be Akio, Todoroki's younger brother, who Todoroki thought was dead. Though a member of the Ninja Dropouts, Gantetsu had been secretly caring for the orphaned children. Despite knowing the truth, Todoroki is unable to forgive Gantetsu.

On his way to collect some bamboo shoots necessary for making pickles, Naruto comes upon an injured youth who has lost his memory. Tsunade insists that it’s dangerous to have an unidentified stranger staying in the village. But Naruto is impressed by the young man’s kindness and insists on allowing the boy to stay.

Judging from a jutsu that Menma uses to save Naruto, Tsunade believes that Menma has some connection to the Hidden Sound Village. Naruto and the others head for the Land of Rice Paddies to check into Menma's memories. Naruto finds himself in opposition to Neji and Tenten when he discovers that their objectives are to discover Menma's true identity and to capture the attackers from the other day.

Naruto finds it difficult to believe that Menma is actually a member of the gang of bandits that attacked the village. Just when the angry villagers are about to attack Menma, the bandits attack again. The leader of the gang calls Menma a traitor. In the midst of the fighting, Menma reveals his greatest secret.

An incursion by a mysterious group called the Four Celestials ends in the kidnapping of the Sand Village ninja candidate Matsuri. Receiving a request for help from the Sand, Tsunade assigns Shikamaru the mission. Squad Leader Shikamaru calls the Leaf genin together once again.

Shikamaru sends Shino, Hinata and Neji to search out the enemy while the Shikamaru squad waits for the right moment to attack. Meanwhile, the Sand siblings pursue the Four Celestials, whose ultimate goal is to capture Gaara.
