Superskilled with Eva Zu Beck

Eva travels to Mexico’s Copper Canyon to meet the Rarámuri, who are famous for their ability to run long distances on treacherous terrain without the help of cushioned sneakers or high-tech supplements. She challenges herself to run an ultramarathon using their methods and learns that the secret to their superskill isn’t so secret after all.

Imagine getting lost in the Amazon rainforest … on purpose. Adventurer and YouTuber Eva zu Beck travels to Brazil to learn the ancient secrets of wayfinding from the Indigenous Matis community. Then, she puts her newfound skills to the test as she attempts to find her way out of the deep jungle without using maps or modern technology.

As some of the last hunter-gatherers on Earth, the Hadza hunt and forage for their food every day. After immersing herself in the Hazda way of life, Eva attempts to subsist for 24 hours with only the food and water she can find on her own. But once her trial is over, Eva realizes that survival for the Hadza isn’t meant to be a solitary endeavor.

Eva joins a team of female porters carrying equipment, shelter and food up Mount Kilimanjaro. As she struggles with the heavy loads these women carry up Africa’s tallest mountain each day, Eva learns that the source of their strength is more mental than physical. Eva then uses their inspiration to overcome an unexpected challenge along the way.
