Carroll Shelby teams with Ford Motor Company in 1965 and transforms the Mustang into a true race car -- the GT350. Then, four decades after the original, Shelby builds a new GT350 with Ford's latest Mustang.

Borrowing the concept from his original Mustang GT500 of the 1960s, Carroll Shelby and Ford build a boulevard brute with Ford's new big-block Mustang. They transform the new GT500 into the world's fastest production Mustang.

For nearly 50 years, the name Shelby has been synonymous with high-performance Ford Mustangs. Prior to his death in 2012, Carroll Shelby remained involved with the cars, including the current 200 mph, 662-horsepower Shelby GT500.
