Undercurrent: Real Murder Investigation

In 2009, Bob Chappell goes missing in Australia and his partner, Sue Neill-Fraser, is tried and convicted. Filmmaker Eve Ash documents the events and persuades former detective Colin McLaren to examine the case.

Sue Neill-Fraser's lies to law enforcement lead to her downfall, and Colin forensically listens to her interviews in search of answers. Then, Eve discovers a long, dark hair found on a jacket was never tested for DNA.

Colin examines crime scene photos from the yacht while Eve and a private investigator follow a lead to Queensland, Australia. Later, Colin and Eve learn that Sue couldn't have moved Bob's body by herself, and the hair DNA results come back.

Eve learns that the prosecution's star witness was facing charges at the time of his testimony. Then, Colin meets with a fellow inmate of Sue's who comes forward with information about another woman on the yacht, Meaghan Vass.

After suffering a heart attack and being rushed in for surgery, Colin agrees to meet Meaghan in a hotel room, but she doesn't show. He discovers the room has been broken into, and Eve is worried they're being targeted for getting close to the truth.

Eve and Colin confront the Tasmanian Premier with a comprehensive report of their findings and demand an independent inquiry. When Sue's new appeal hearing begins, Meaghan Vass drops a bombshell during her testimony.
