Hester tells William it’s time for a change in the bedroom-specifically, to the décor. For once resisting the temptation to do it herself, she decides to call in a professional. But shortly after he starts the job, the decorator wishes she hadn’t.

William has been burning the candle at both ends while entertaining a potential client and trying to secure a new business deal. Hester gets a business deal of her own; unfortunately, it threatens to upset his.

The Fields get to watch their new grandson overnight. But Hester finds herself overextended when she also volunteers to deliver a meal to an elderly neighbor. To William’s dismay, the police get involved.

Hester thinks she and William need to lose weight-and insists that he give up alcohol for Lent and cut back on his calories. For William, it’s the equivalent of a starvation diet, and soon the only thing being lost is his temper.

Hester plans to stand for election to the local residents’ association and enlists William to help with her speech. Her rival for the post is an attractive young blonde William knows from the golf club. Before long, Hester wants to know whose side he’s on.

Hester plans a romantic dinner with William to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. But her hopes are dashed when William has to work late. Unknown to Hester, he has been cooking up a special celebration of his own.
