In order to survive in the concentration camp under the sadistic commander Klein, once celebrated vaudeville star Adam Stein must learn to literally live like a dog. Years later, Adam is still tormented by the horrors of the past and lives with other victims in a sanatorium for survivors of the Holocaust in the middle of the Israeli desert.
