Air Dogs

Rooster and Miller head down to the Arizona desert where they meet up with world champion air racer and flying legend Kirby Chambliss. Chambliss takes the Air Dogs through Red Bull boot camp to see if they have what it takes to become air racers. While Miller is anxious to fly the powerful Edge 540 - the Ferrari of the skies - he soon discovers that he might be biting off more than he can chew.

In this adrenaline-filled episode, the Air Dogs push their skills to the limit. The mission: land a vintage air trainer on the smallest airstrip in the world - the roof of a RV speeding down a short runway at over 90 kilometres an hour. World famous air show pilot Kent Pietch spends time teaching Rooster and Miller the technique, but will all the training help them master such a hairy landing?

Follow the Air Dogs as they catch up with Granley and the ultimate air show stunt plane - the Yak, a tough-as-nails Russian trainer. While Rooster and Granley push the Yak to the edge, Granley's son Ross teaches Miller the basics in aerobatics in a different kind of Yak. Watch as Miller tests his skills on the Yak 18: a fully aerobatic, four-seat truck with wings.

The Lancair P IV is a top of the line, composite aircraft with a glass cockpit - capable of flight at an altitude of 13 kilometres, it is the ultimate airplane. Watch as the Air Dogs sweet-talk their way into the cockpit, but before the company brass hands over the stick, the duo must learn about the airplane on the ground. Will they ever get a chance to fly this P IV?

The Snowbirds are the largest jet formation team in the world, and Rooster used to fly with them! Join the Air Dogs in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, as they borrow a couple of jets for some flights of fancy in the sky. As Rooster catches up with his old Snowbird pals, the group decides to teach Miller how to fly through a loop in formation.

There are only two working Lancaster Bombers left in the world and the Air Dogs are going to get a crack at one of them. After finally convincing the aircraft's caretaker to let Rooster fly the vintage bomber, a string of malfunctions nearly leaves this piece of history scattered across the runway.

The Air Dogs have their sights set on getting some airtime on two of the most legendary fighters in history, the Spitfire and the Hurricane. But they must pass a flight test on an advanced WWII trainer, the Harvard. While Rooster seems to have everything under control, Marks wonders whether he'll have to pass up this once in a life time chance to get his hands on the legendary fighters.

The Air Dogs are back with the Pietch brothers. After passing a flight test during their last visit, they've been cleared to take on one of the most legendary fighters ever made: the P-51 Mustang. Rooster seeks to redeem himself with the brothers after his poor landings last time, while Mark is still in awe that he's actually going to get to fly one of these vintage planes.

The Air Dogs are on a pilgrimage to the Mecca of gliding, a unique area at the foot of the Rocky Mountains that produces massive thermals. Equipped with oxygen tanks and clothing designed protect against the temperatures of Mt. Everest, Miller and Rooster soar into the inhospitable heights of the atmosphere trying to outdo each other.

Canards are a head turning type of aircraft design that boasts better efficiency, comfort and resistance against stalls. So why haven't these inverted planes come to dominate the market? Mark and Rooster are test flying the only fleet of Canard airliners in the world to investigate the superiorities and downfalls of a visionary aircraft that may have been built before its time.

Watch as the Air Dogs relive the history of the worlds first powered aircraft design, the Biplane. Rooster attempts to follow in his father's footsteps by testing himself on one of the toughest WWII training aircraft, the Tiger Moth; while Miller goes joyriding in a vintage stunt Biplane.

Rooster and Mark are hopping in to some home built stunt planes. Teaming up with air show pilots Ken Fowler and Eric Hansen, the crew has some difficult stunts lined up for them. Precise geometry and perfect timing will be needed to pull these moves off in time for the next air show.

As Rooster struggles to adapt his flight experience to helicopters, Mark aims to finally out perform the veteran pilot. Although Miller is the only one with experience in a helicopter, the two have headed out south to challenge each other on an experimental chopper that simulates plane flight via an onboard computer, possibly giving Rooster back his advantage.
