Rolf Larsen is an investigator and married to Maria. Just as Rolf is looking forward to a few days alone with his daughter, work demands his attention: a little girl, Minna, has been kidnapped. (Nordic Noir, True Crime, Best of Crime)

Five years has passed since Rolf lost his 3-month-old daughter. A stolen car in Tornby introduces him to the young police assistant Neel. He is reluctantly ordered by their boss to test the car thief's DNA with his old colleagues in Copenhagen.

Now that the Minna case has reopened, Rolf has new hope of finding a connection between Minna's kidnapping and his own daughter's disappearance.

Claire send out an international search. Meanwhile, Neel try to find the identity of a young Danish girl, Victoria, who turns out to be the victim of the killings in France. Her foster parents, Bror and Vibeke, have just reported her missing.

In Paris, the two men, Grégoire and Fabien, are brought to trial. They are shocked by the murder of Victoria and they confess to having paid her to be the surrogate mother of their baby Leó.

Rolf, Claire and Karol arrives at the monastery in the southern Poland and demands to talk to the abbes. She rejects any knowledge of the dead Victoria and of illegal adoptions. But Rolf and Claire are suspicious.

It has now been proven that Minna's disappearance points to a network of international trafficking with children. In Denmark, Neel discovers that all the cases have been handled by the same employee from the state administration.

During the constitutional hearing, Skaubo's Polish-born wife Eva confesses to having played a leading role in the network 'Bliss'. Eva was also adopted in Poland by Danish parents and have since then dreamt of helping other children.
