Princess Diana began the eighties as a shy bride and ended the decade as the most photographed woman in the world. From Dynasty Di to Pop Princess to AIDS champion this was the decade in which Diana found her voice.

In the 1990s Diana cultivated her self-styled role as Queen of Hearts and embraced the confessional culture sweeping the western world. At the same time her marriage was unravelling, leading inexorably towards divorce and the tragedy that followed.
