Based on the classic Indian tale of Heer Ranjha where, Heer (Sridevi) and Dido (Anil Kapoor), get separated in their childhood due to family differences. When years later Dido starts working in Heer's village, she falls in love with him and they believe it is meant to be. But in comes Heer's uncle, Kaedo, who will not let sleeping dogs lie when he finds out about Dido's true identity.
