During the Ming Dynasty, Lu Qin, a royal guard, was sent to the army for a crime. On the way, he and Fan Ying met by chance and escorted the corrupt official Zhang Song back to Beijing to accuse the eunuch Wang Gonggong, who was a collaborator. After a life-and-death pursuit, Lu Qin died in the end. Zhang Song arrived in Beijing, but was executed in prison by the prince.
