Knots Landing

Paige traces Hawkins' key to a post office box in Spring Lake. She goes there, as does Melcher, who thinks he has the key. Meanwhile, Sumner follows them both. Gary Ewing's mysterious female phone friend is murdered while talking to him on the phone.

Gary tries to trace the location of "Sally's friend," who he thinks has been murdered. Danny proposes to Val. Paige retrieves important papers from Hawkins' post office box, but they're taken by Ted. A truck that Ted stole crashes.

Sumner arranges for the disappearance of the negatives. Karen learns the truth about Mack and Paula's relationship. Val's new boyfriend may not be as sincere as he appears.

Paige and Michael both decide to work for Sumner. Val tells Danny the truth about her children's father. Gary finally discovers the identity of his mysterious phone friend.

While Danny and Val approach a crisis in their relationship, Gary and Amanda begin theirs. Mack's elderly client gets more than she bargains for when she challenges a large company.

Mack helps Aunt Ginny when she becomes a suspect in the death of Jeri Maddux. Amanda is caught between Gary and Danny.

Mack agrees to defend Baylor when the missing money is found in Baylor's apartment. Paige meets a mysterious stranger while Michael and Linda become attracted to each other. Danny continues to interfere with Gary and Amanda.

Paige's new lover, Tom, is more involved in Mack's case than anyone suspects. Baylor insists he's guilty of all charges. Michael and Linda continue their flirtation.

Danny woos Val. Tom doesn't call Paige. Baylor pleads guilty and warns Mack to stay off the Oakman case.

Amanda anonymously calls Karen's TV talk show to talk about being raped by Danny. Tom persists in seeing Paige. Linda's sudden announcement that she's going to divorce Eric shocks the entire family.

Gary tells Amanda he knows Danny raped her and convinces her to report it to the police. Meanwhile, Danny gets Val to believe his version of events, and the police refuse to prosecute Danny.

Eric returns home to surprise Michael on his birthday. Linda tells Karen she now loves Michael. Olivia and Harold continue to argue.

Eric finds out that his wife and his brother love each other. Mack becomes surprised when he tracks down the accountant for Oakman Industries.

Mack tracks down the Oakman Industries accountant in Toronto, but Willis orders Tom to kill them both. With money problems looming, Olivia and Harold both take a gamble that they can't afford.

Sumner's estranged daughter arrives to reconcile with her father. Sumner announces that he'll replace the money lost in the pension fund scandal, and Harold gets deeper into debt.

A grieving Greg Sumner buries his daughter. Gary desperately tries to stop the wedding of Val and Danny.

The ghosts of his daughter and his father appear to torment a distraught Sumner, who learns that there may have been more to the death of Mary Frances than first appeared.

Val finally introduces Danny to her close friends, as Amanda says goodbye to Gary. Harold and Olivia discover each other's secrets. Sumner investigates his daughter's murder.

While Sumner remains close to death, Mack blames Tom. Eric and Linda return, ready to go through with their divorce. Danny decides to adopt Val's children.

Tom confesses his crimes to Paige. Danny's true nature is revealed to Val. Paige's mother shows up and causes dissension between Mack and Paige.

Danny's lying and hostility become more and more evident to Val. Karen and her producer are manipulated by Jeff.

Danny recovers, then lies about his encounter with Val. Linda continues to scheme her way to success. Pat decides to resume her medical career.

Danny returns to Val's house, forcing her to move in with Gary. Karen is silently stalked by a mysterious man, and Olivia and Harold are reunited.

After several rejections, Paige finally accepts Tom's proposal, and an intoxicated Danny causes trouble for Val, the twins and, tragically, the Williams family.
