The Dog Hotel

The House of Hugo has boutique bedrooms, fully-equipped gym, designer pool and two huge pack rooms for day-care guests. Welcome to the UK's first super-size, luxury hotel and spa for dogs. Matt and Leon have put everything they own on the line, so they don't have long to turn their doggy dream into a financial success.

The success of the Dog Hotel is part of the booming pet industry, with the world of dog grooming alone worth millions of pounds. Aware of this, Matt and Leon are determined increase the profits from their doggy spa and grooming salon. But there's a problem, the trained groomer walks out - leaving them with no-one to transform scruffy mutts into doggy divas.

Matt and Leon take on their first dog on the hotel's health and fitness programme. Terrier Alfie is over nearly twice his ideal weight, unable to exercise and he's slowly becoming less mobile. In desperation his owner brings him to live at the hotel for 6 weeks in the hope that they can save his life by helping him lose weight.

Just down the road from The Dog Hotel is the local branch of dog rescue centre - the Dogs' Trust. Here, Matt and Leon meet Pip. Pip was born with a condition which gives her the 'collywobbles' and potential new owners are finding her shaking off-putting. Matt and Leon offer to have Pip groomed and photographed in the hope that it will improve her chances of finding a new home.

Matt and Leon start work on creating their own fragrance. Not only do they have to decide how it should smell, but they need to cast a dog to be the face of their canine cologne. In talent-show style, Matt and Leon, with the help of business mentor, Gina Citroni and dog photographer, Rhian go about the painful business of finding the perfect pooch, with an X-factor style judging panel.

Lily the boxer is a problem dog. Enter Matt, the Dog Hotel's resident dog behaviour expert who does his best to help Lily and her owners put her best paw forward. And Gemma has been having trouble at school - but now she's been allowed to spend 3 days a week doing the only thing she loves, working with dogs, which has a positive effect on this once very unhappy teenager.

Matt and Leon are big fashion lovers. Now it's time for their passion for fashion to take a doggy twist as they embark on creating their own clothing range.. for dogs. Lucky for them hotel regular Angela Clayton has twenty years experience as a dressmaker and tailor and she's offered to help them pull together some designs and samples for a doggy collection.

Eddie the bulldog is undergoing a course of intensive hydrotherapy treatment for a genetic condition, with dramatic results. Matt is out back taking a delivery of the newly acquired agility equipment. And there's another confrontation with no-nonsense business mentor, Gina Citroni when the boys decide to have a cuddly-toy made to sell in the hotel.

In the pack room we find out who is the hardest working dog wrangler, we also find out about the doggy dynamics of the pack room, with all those pampered pooches how does it work in there? Who is the Top Dog? And Matt and Leon hatch a plan to play matchmaker - as they organise a night of doggy-dating for their single clients.

Dogs really are man's best friend - and for Ricky Perrin that is 100% true. His dog Harry is an assistance dog, who he has trained to help him, since he broke his back a few years ago. Since his accident, Ricky has become a charity fund raiser and wants to help Canine Partners, a charity that raises money to train other assistance dogs, and the boys are keen to help in whatever way they can.
