Technology of War

In a remote part of the World, an unmanned aircraft flies undetected over a small village, believed to be a terrorist stronghold. Using advanced sensors, the UAV scans the terrain. Images are beamed simultaneously via global satellite to the US forward command post, to a network command and control vehicle 15 km away, as well as central command thousands of km away. A battle plan is drawn.

When terrorists attacked The World Trade Center on 9/11 they unleashed more than just random death and destruction, they set loose fear, fear that front lines of war no longer oceans away right around the corner. Subsequent attacks have heightened that fear. The brightest minds are working to develop and deploy new technologies that can hopefully stop terrorists.

Future conflicts will be very different from those of the past. It'll take a new set of tools to fight rogue nations armed with nuclear weapons to sniff out and combat insurgent groups hiding among civilian populations to track down terrorists storing bombs, rockets, even WMD's.
