Time Team: The Team's Favorite Digs

Tony Robinson, Professor Mick Aston and the team investigate one of Britain's greatest historic landmarks, among the most famous sites Time Team has ever been invited to: Westminster Abbey. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of Parliament Square, the archaeologists have three days to pin down the location of a lost sacristy.

Tony Robinson, Professor Mick Aston, and the rest of the team descend upon the Scottish island of Mull at the invitation of two local amateur archaeologists.

Tony Robinson and the team get their feet wet as they examine a stretch of the River Tees where local divers have found over 2000 high quality Roman finds. The fact that the river flows past one of the most impressive Roman forts in northern Britain just adds to the mystery.

Tony Robinson and the team get a unique opportunity to investigate a set of buildings once occupied by Anglo Saxon royalty. It's the rarest of archaeological sites but amazingly, the team uncovers the biggest Saxon building ever discovered in Britain.

Using contemporary accounts and the evidence from their own trenches the archaeologists attempt to separate out fact from propaganda.

Tony Robinson and the team find themselves lost in the mists of a Welsh forest as they investigate one of the biggest castles in Britain.

Last year, a certain Professor Mick Aston took a walk around the grounds of the beautiful Burford Priory. He was there on a little sojourn, having a look at the site of a 13th century hospital of which parts are still visible, interwoven into the fabric of the existing house. \

The Governor's Green is an historic part of the ancient city of Portsmouth. Before the Governors house was built in the 18th century a series of churches and pilgrims hospitals were on the site. And this is what Time Team wants to explore.

Norman Cross is possibly the world's first purpose built POW camp. Although the site was closed in 1816, no archaeological work has ever been done. The Time Team have three days to discover and map the shape of the camp and uncover what life was like for POWs during the time.

The quiet village of Litlington in Cambridgeshire gets the full Time Team treatment as Tony Robinson and the digging team hunt for the missing remains of one of Britain's biggest Roman villas. The archaeologists come to town because a mysterious Roman building hidden in a copse and a 19th century map suggested the next door field contained a massive villa.

Evidence seems to show a huge hill fort near the town of Dinmore. The Time investigates the site and begins to unravel exactly what the site represents. Even members of the team seem divided on what exactly the massive engineering work completed 3000 years ago was for.

The year is 1825. Antiquarian and polymath Edmund Tyrell Artis is exploring Roman sites in Cambridgeshire when he comes across some well preserved buildings in a wood surrounded by evidence of ironworking.
