During World War I, author Rudyard Kipling uses his influence to help his son Jack enlist despite poor eyesight. When Jack goes missing in battle, the Kipling family is left to face the cost of patriotism, pride, sacrifice, and grief as they search for truth and meaning amid devastating loss.
