Faithless

When Sam's wife, Tracy, is tragically killed by an ice cream van, he must become both a father and mother to his three daughters. His narcissistic half-brother, Zein, moves in to "help," and Sam ends up taking on more than he bargained for.

Lina performs a poem at school that castigates her father and is later posted to social media. Things start looking up for Sam when he gets a call from his agent, but then Zein secretly steals a few grand from his brother.

Sam has a big meeting with a UK TV executive, but it goes horribly wrong when he meets a flirtatious Australian woman named Kate. Lina also dabbles in flirtation with her crush, Jake, while Layla gets her first period, and Zein buys Nancy a lizard.

The family attends the winter bazaar at the mosque. Lina is invited to audition for drama school, but when she celebrates with Jake, he takes things too far. Sam goes on a blind date, which is ruined by a mysterious woman in a niqab.

Under pressure to pay for boiler repairs, Sam discovers that his brother stole from him. Zein's plans to repay Sam with his big acting gig fall through when he doesn't get the role. Without her medication, Nancy has an epileptic seizure at school.

The start of Ramadan sees everyone in the family but Nancy fasting. As Sam experiences his first day in a writer's room, Lina auditions for drama school. Meanwhile, Zein has a screen test for another role and leaves for the US to take the gig.
