Sky Cops

London's Sky Cops are back for a second series and this year they have fifteen million pounds worth of new helicopter's to help them in their fight against crime in the capital, which tonight includes a dangerous blackmailer whose reckless driving is threatening to cause death and destruction and a woman in a stolen car who is trying to escape the police by putting her foot down.

Tonight on Sky Cops as the unit chase crooks down the canal pathways in east London the pressure is on for five young police officers wannabe Sky Cops. Only two can make it, but none might be chosen. As the volunteers take to the skies for the first time, the veterans in the unit decide to shake things up a bit.

The Sky Cops get help from their four legged friends as together they catch criminals who try to hide from the police. With India 99 above using their thermal image camera and the dogs below sniffing them out even in the darkness there is no cover. Back at base in Lippitt Hill in Essex, the dogs (and handlers) from the metropolitan police specialist arms dogs unit are training with PC Pat Agnew.

The sparks fly as gangs terrorise the streets of Peckham with fireworks - aiming firing rockets at each other and causing mayhem. Above them, the Sky Cops watch in horror. The Sky Cops are also kept busy by youths with stolen mopeds and motorbikes, who use them to snatch handbags.

The tension rises for the Sky Cops as they chase a fourteen-year-old boy who has escaped from custody through parkland to a house where he climbs out onto a two-story roof to evade capture and threatens to jump. Meanwhile five Sky Cops, including two of the new recruits head for northeast England to swap their flying suits for wetsuits as they learn to escape should the helicopter ditch in water.
