World War One: The People's Story

Private Reg Evans sails for France with his regiment, while newlywed Alan Lloyd awaits his orders, and James Butlin prepares to put Oxford University behind him in the service of his country. Determined to be a war correspondent, 19-year-old Dorothy Lawrence heads for the front.
