Dead Like Me

When a toilet seat from the MIR space station falls from the sky and kills her, 18 year-old, cynical George (Ellen Muth) finds out that she has become a reaper and there is a quota of souls she must collect before her soul can move on.

George suffers reaper's remorse and tries to quit her new job only to find there are consequences when she shirks her reaper duties.

George (Ellen Muth) breaks a cardinal rule, and sneaks back to her parents' house. She attempts to communicate with her mother, only to discover that the annoyingly trite saying "you can never go home" is even more accurate when you're dead.

George (Ellen Muth) finds a loophole in the Reaper rules and decides to spare her next mark. Meanwhile, Rube (Mandy Patinkin) and Mason (Callum Blue) run into problems at the airport, and Reggie (Britt McKillip) further retreats into her own world.

George (Ellen Muth) learns a lot about Betty (Rebecca Gayheart), who decides to take a leap of faith and piggy-back on a soul to cross over. Meanwhile, Mason (Callum Blue) reaps and befriends an old woman but still can't resist a little larceny.

Laura Harris joins the cast as actress turned reaper Daisy Adair, who met her demise in the 1930s and has a few interesting stories to tell about her liaisons with some famous stars. Also, Rube decides George and Daisy would make ideal roommates.

George (Ellen Muth) finds herself in a strange -- and potentially romantic -- relationship with a young schizophrenic man (Tygh Runyan) who can actually see the gravelings. Meanwhile, Daisy (Jasmine Guy) and Mason (Callum Blue) reap a wedding.

George (Ellen Muth) gets a pet -- a beautiful golden retriever left behind by her latest reap -- and Rube (Mandy Patinkin) mans the grill at Der Waffle Haus to replace the cook (John Kapelos) whose soul he reluctantly just reaped.

When George (Ellen Muth) needs to collect a soul at the local college, she makes friends with a female student whose favorite professor is George's father (Greg Kean)…and discovers that something may be going on between the two of them.

Fed up with her job, George falls for a scam cooked up by Daisy and Mason to extort money from the rich son of a woman whose soul will not cross over. But Rube is onto them, and busts the trio. Meanwhile, it's the anniversary of Roxy's death.

After George (Ellen Muth) informs Delores that she's found another higher-paying job, Delores organizes a going away party. Mason (Callum Blue) takes the souls of a together-forever couple, and Daisy deals with a painter who won't cross over.

Unable to sleep, George (Ellen Muth) heads to the Waffle Haus where she finds the reapers filling out evaluations under Rube's watchful eye. After glimpsing a post-it which lists her family's address, a panicked George disobeys Rube and rushes home.

When the Gravelings take the day off, the reapers are stuck with a filing fiasco and need the resources at Happy Time. Meanwhile, George reflects on her family's happier times at the cabin and we see how her parent's marriage began to fall apart.

The Lasses prepares to visit George's grave. Meanwhile, Rube pops the soul of a yoga teacher who can't wait to embrace the great beyond. Mason embraces a young woman who puts an end to his sexual dry streak. And George asks Delores for her job back.
