Doctor Finlay

The reconstruction of Arden House is complete, but changes continue within its walls. Rhona has taken over the housekeeping duties, but Janet, despite being a newlywed, finds it hard to step away. Dr. Sean McKenna has joined the practice, and Dr. Finlay’s old schoolmate, Dr. Jennifer Napier, comes to Tannochbrae.

Dr. Cameron’s suspicions are aroused when a young lady, Millie Cairns, comes down with chicken pox for seemingly the second time. Meanwhile, Janet anxiously awaits the arrival of Doctor Finlay's new partner.

Still traumatized by Dr. McKenna’s death, Dr. Finlay becomes even more irritable when his mother visits Arden House and embarrasses him with family stories. His foul mood leads him into an argument with Dr. Napier over her treatment of elderly patient Annie Kirk.

To promote women’s health issues, Dr. Napier begins holding seminars and informing patients about birth control options, much to the dismay of the older members of the community. She also treats Greta Johnstone, a woman who has suffered for years with a painful and humiliating ailment.

When a gay man is violently attacked in Tannochbrae, Dr. Finlay experiences a conflict between friendship and professional responsibility.

A teenage girl mysteriously collapses at the manse, but Dr. Finlay cannot find anything wrong with her. He grows suspicious when he learns she was alone with the minister at the time of the incident. One of Dr. Napier’s patients deals with an unwanted pregnancy.

After the school headmaster’s son is diagnosed with diphtheria, the doctors race to save the boy and inoculate all the local children with the vaccine. Meanwhile, Dr. Cameron insists that a dying woman retain her right to confidentiality, which sets off a series of events that end in disaster.
