Fragile Heart

Cardiac surgeon Edgar is at the top of his field. He is so blinded by his success that he doesn't see the problems brewing in his own family, and how his cockiness will inevitably affect his patients and his practice.

Edgar prepares for his trip to China and is given an offer to treat an unknown senior political figure that is difficult for him to refuse. Nikola covers up her plagiarism. Lilith finds herself with a surplus of notes regarding alternative medicines.

Edgar faces a few moral dilemmas after being confronted with the truth of organ trafficking in China, and after discovering the truth behind his daughter's paper. These events exacerbate his already questionable health, which leads to an interesting conversation with a doctor practicing holistic medicine.

Edgar returns back to England after walking out of the surgery in China. He is taking all he has been through to correct his family and his practice by taking responsibility for himself and opening his mind to those around him.
