Tale of Arang

A Rang asks Eun O to help her, and Eun O says he will if she helps him become the magistrate.

Eun O sees her mother's hairpin that A Rang has, and he promises to help her regain her memory.

After days of rain, a woman's body is found, and it is A Rang's. A Rang decides to go to the afterworld.

A Rang has 45 days to investigate her death. Unlike Eun O's wish, nobody attends A Rang's funeral.

Eun O tells A Rang that he is looking for his mother, and the two become a team. Ju Wal's past is revealed.

It turns out that Lord Choi is not Ju Wal's real father, and Lord Choi and Hong Ryeon aren't married.

Hong Ryeon orders Ju Wal to get close to A Rang and find out what she wants the most. Eun O falls off a cliff.

Ju Wal saves A Rang on the beach and takes her to his house, and A Rang runs into Lord Choi there.

Lord Choi humiliates Eun O for having been born out of wedlock, and A Rang yells at him in anger.

Hong Ryeon's past gets revealed. Hong Ryeon pushes Ju Wal to bring A Rang to her, but Ju Wal falls for A Rang.

"Hong Ryeon knows that A Rang is bait to get her. Mu Young learns that Hong Ryeon is his sister. "

Through the journal she wrote when she was alive, A Rang regains her memory and finds out how she was killed.

"Mu Young fails to get rid of Hong Ryeon. Now, the only one that can remove Hong Ryeon is Eun O. "

Evil spirits come out of the pot they took from Lord Choi's house and attack A Rang. Eun O meets Hong Ryeon.

Eun O finds out that his mother's soul is still there inside Hong Ryeon. Mu Young tries to stab Hong Ryeon.

Ju Wal asks Hong Ryeon about A Rang and her death, and Hong Ryeon tells him that he killed her himself.

After gaining all the memory, A Rang visits Ju Wal to ask what happened. Eun O is hauled off to prison.

As Hong Ryeon's spirit weakens, Ju Wal starts to gain the erased memory. A Rang decides to leave this world.

Lord Choi is arrested and sent to Hanyang. Eun O stabs Hong Ryeon with the hairpin to save his mother.

Mu Young kills Mu Yeon and himself, and Ju Wal jumps off a cliff. Eun O and A Rang reunite in the afterlife.
