Fed up with all the food her mother-in-law sends her, Midori acts on Maria's advice and confronts her husband Kazuhiro. Midori is preparing her newest dish with more help from Maria, when Goro makes an unexpected visit. Ichigo drags a ragged Goro out shopping when they run into Koharu, Katono's daughter. She is a bright and happy fifth grader, but Goro sees right through her. Concerned about his future, Goro's mother forces him into a matchmaking date with Sae. Both families should be in attendance, but Goro's brother Roku has yet to arrive. Goro rushes to the hospital when he realizes exactly what Coco poisoned her stalker with. However, he finds Maria there instead. After she leaves him with a threat, Goro asks Ichigo to move in with him into his office. After throwing himself into the depths of hell with Maria, Goro reappears before a worried Ichigo later that night. With no explanation from Goro and no sign of Maria, Ichigo's life returns to normal. Six months later, Goro attends a sweets tasting event when he spots Maria.
