With a fragmented backstory mainly based on first-hand account, we learn about the troubled past of Stewart 'Boetie Boer' Wilken and the abuse he suffered as a young child.

Stewart's relationship with his first wife is deeply troubled. When he learns of their daughter being molested by her new husband, the thought drives him mad.
