Surfer Classic Series

The first issue of "Surfer Magazine" for this series, profiles the current World Champion, Tommy Curren and legendary surfing great, Lance Carson. The crew traveled to the outer reefs of exotic Tahiti and to the perfect point breaks off Central America.

The new and unique trend setters of the surf style are portrayed in this issue as "Surfer" reviews top world contender, Brad Gerlach. We also check out the popular sport of body boarding. And on our travel segment we head to Malaysia in search of great surf and unique culture.

In this episode we take a look back at those that created the surfing lifestyle. Exploring not only surfers like Rich Chew, Herbie Fletcher and Donald Takayama, but also screen the great films, such as "Endless Summer" and the latest hit on the surf scene, "Legends of Malibu."

The Surfer team heads around the South Pacific in search of the perfect wave, from Hawaii to Tahiti, then down-under to Australia and finally, to the reefs of Bali.

No surf series would be complete without an in depth look at Hawaii, both past and present. "Surfer Magazine" profiles the Hawaiian greats, such as, Derek Ho and the legendary Duke.

The most dynamic arena for surfing is Waimea Bay. On the biggest day of the year the greatest event in surfing takes place, "The Eddie Aikau Invitational". The rider of the biggest wave wins $50,000. Profiles of the big wave riders are also included.

"Surfer Magazine" explores the cutting edge of surfing. Profiles of todays hottest young professional surfing champions as well as a look at the great surf photographer Warren Bolster are part of this "State of the Art Issue". We also explore South Africa's perfect point break, Jefferys Bay.

The big prize money is in "The World Tour". The top rated surfers in the world are covered in this look at contest surfing. Segments from Hawaii and California, as well as Israel are part of the "Contest Surfing Issue".

This is a dynamic look at the "Golden State". Not only has California provided surfing with it's current world champion but also many other current and legendary stars. California is also the home of the skateboard, which is captured on this show.
